Day 30 of Gratitude!

I am so thankful to have so much to be grateful for! I'm glad that I took the opportunity over the past month to focus on one thing I'm thankful for each day! It was honestly hard to narrow it down and decide what I wanted to focus on each day and I'm incredibly blessed to have that problem! I hope that I will take time each day throughout the year to recognize my many blessings and thank my Heavenly Father for them!

Day 29 of Gratitude!

I am grateful for charity and feeling the desire to give to others as much as possible. We had the opportunity to go to the Festival of Trees and it was awesome! I teared up several times but it was amazing to see so much love and support for our local children's hospital! I wish I could give more than I do. I feel so blessed when I am able to give!

Day 28 of Gratitude!

I'm thankful for my visiting teachers! It was so nice to have them come visit me...it sometimes gets boring having nobody to talk to as a stay at home mom...and they shared a great message that I really needed to hear today. How awesome to have that blessing!

On a side note, I'm so grateful for the power of prayer! I literally had a miracle take place in my life yesterday and I honestly don't know if my mom and kids would be okay if I hadn't listened to the prompting I received and prayed! Our Heavenly Father truly loves and cares about each and every one of us!

Day 27 of Gratitude!

I'm grateful for my mom! She teaches me so much...especially about sewing! She has to have a lot of patience because I'm just dumb when it comes to sewing, but I really appreciate her taking the time to teach me!

Day 26 of Gratitude!

I am thankful for my washing machine and dryer! I don't think I could wash all of my laundry by hand and air dry it...I don't have the patience! It's so nice to throw the clothes in and forget about them for a little bit!

Day 25 of Gratitude!

I am grateful for good, reliable transportation! Our cars don't always run as they should but they do get us where we need to go and I think we take them for granted too often! We are so lucky to have something warm to ride in and keep us comfortable as we travel!

Day 24 of Gratitude!

The reason I am late on this one is because I was busy enjoying what I am thankful for! I am thankful for traditions and sharing them with my children. Every year when we set up our Christmas tree we drink egg nog and listen to Christmas music. That night we all sleep by the tree...much harder with two babies but we survived! I hope that they enjoy and appreciate the traditions that we have together. It's very special to me!

Day 23 of Gratitude!

The past several posts are late and this one is getting out of the way early! Haha!

I am so incredibly grateful that I am done with my Christmas shopping and that I'm not fighting for a good deal because I was careful to watch for good deals and get everything I needed before Thanksgiving for the first time ever! Yay! Go me! :) Goodnight, world!

Day 22 of Gratitude!

I am so thankful to have a holiday to celebrate our gratitude for all that we have and to remember why we have all that we have today! Our Heavenly Father truly does watch over us and bless us and I am so grateful to him! I'm also very grateful that after two big Thanksgiving dinners I didn't even gain 5 pounds during the day! Phew!

Day 21 of Gratitude!

I am grateful for freebies and deals! I often score a ton of great stuff and we were lucky enough to get some free tickets to the Utes basketball game and take the kids with us. It was a total blast and I can't wait to go again sometime! Berkley was very entertaining and cute (as always) and Nixon was content the whole time too! I love family time...especially when it's free!

Day 20 of Gratitude!

I am so thankful for my amazing husband and the blessing and example that he is in my life! He works so hard to make everyone around him happy and he usually succeeds! The 20th was his birthday and it was so much fun to celebrate with him and I am so grateful that he came to Earth to be my eternal companion and father to my children! I love you, babe!

Day 19 of Gratitude!

I am grateful for love! It's so great to love and be loved in return! 7 years ago I went on my first date with the love of my life and now we have been happily married for 6.5 years and I love him more and more all of the time!

I wish that everybody I encountered could love me and that I could make them feel loved...imagine how great that would be!

Day 18 of Gratitude!

Another late one! Oops! I am thankful for my vision and the ability to watch my children learn and grow!

I got to watch Berkley share one of her favorite things in the world (Smarties) with a friend of hers from nursery while we were at stake conference...so precious! It melted my heart like crazy!

I also got to see an opportunity for Aaron to help our neighbors yesterday and I can't imagine how much harder their job would have been for them without him there! I am so thankful to have good vision to see all of these wonderful things!

P.S. I also got to watch Nixon army crawl his way around the living room! He's such a little mover! Especially for a 4.5 month old! Crazy kid! :) Gosh! I love my family!

Day 17 of Gratitude!

Way late, I know! I'm grateful for weekends! After a long week alone with the kids, it is always great to have Aaron home with us on Saturday and Sunday!

We had a great weekend too, including nearly finishing our Christmas shopping (yay!) and checking out the new outlets in Lehi! I wish the weekend could last forever!

Day 16 of Gratitude!

I am thankful for giveaways! It always brightens my day when I win something! The other day I received an email informing me that I had won tickets to Twilight from ksl's Facebook page and I was so excited! We got to go to it tonight and enjoy free drinks and popcorn...it was awesome! Thanks, ksl! It was a great date night!

Day 15 of Gratitude!

I'm thankful for visiting teaching! It's such a neat program that the church has set up for us to get to know each other better and to help us to be there for others.

It's such a blessing and a privilege to have visiting teachers and to be visiting teachers. I'm aiming to be a better visiting teacher and to help the sisters I visit in any and every way that I can!

Day 14 of Gratitude!

This is way late but better late than never...right?! :)

I'm grateful for sleep! Sleep is so energizing and desperately needed when you are a mother of two kids under two.

My kids are pretty good sleepers too thankfully! Berkley usually sleeps for 11 hours straight at night then takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day...wonderful!

Nixon sleeps 8-10 hours straight each night (which is fantastic because he has only been in his own bed in his own room for two weeks now) and usually takes two 3 hour naps during the day!

I definitely can't complain about their sleep habits! Right now (at 9 am) they are both asleep still which is amazing and I love it!

I'm also thankful to have a nice, warm bed to sleep in! In addition to that, I'm grateful for Aaron being so sweet and making his half of the bed before he went to work today...love him to death! :)

Day 13 of Gratitude!

I am grateful for relief society and the way that the church is organized. It was wonderful to get out of the house tonight, even if only for an hour, and get to spend time with other sisters in the ward making things for the Festival of Trees! It was the perfect break for me and now I'm so excited for the Festival of Trees and I hope we actually make it this year!

Day 12 of Gratitude!

I am very thankful for great friends! We have a lot of friends but there are a few of our friends who are ALWAYS there for us and I very much appreciate them being such an important part of our lives!

I was blessed to spend time with two of the best friends a girl could have today, Ashley and Heather, and it was perfect!

I got to pick up Ashley from the airport (from going to see Ryan at his graduation from basic training in Texas) and take her home to Ogden and hang out with her for a while and it was a blast to just sit and chat and have Berkley entertain us. I sure will miss her when she moves to Texas next month. :(

After I dropped her off I got to go see Heather and check out her new apartment. Her and Brad are awesome friends! We got to go to her family's cabin at Bear Lake a few weeks ago and we had a blast! Today we just sat and talked and watched Berkley play some more!

I love having good, dependable, loving friends to turn to and share my life with! :) Thanks for making today great!

Day 11 of Gratitude!

I'm grateful for the men and women who serve our country in the military! I have several close family members and friends who are currently in the military and who have retired and passed on and I am so grateful for their service!

Just to name a few...my dad, my grandpas, Aaron's dad (Dave), several of my cousins, and one of our very best friends (Ryan-literally just graduated from basic training for the Air Force)!

I love and appreciate all of them and the others who put their lives at risk to fight for our lives and our freedom. I'm so thankful for those who fought for our freedom!

Day 10 of Gratitude!

I'm thankful for Christmas movies and hot chocolate that bring my family together for a night of fun! We had a blast watching Elf tonight and drinking hot chocolate...Berkley wasn't too sure about the hot chocolate though! :) It was perfect! Especially with the nice blanket of snow outside!

Friday, November 9, 2012

Day 9 of Gratitude!

Today I'm grateful to live in the beautiful state of Utah! I get to enjoy warm summers, beautiful mountains, colorful flowers, relaxing lakes, and SNOW!

It's snowing this morning and I just love how beautiful it is outside! I'm totally in the mood for Christmas now! The last time it snowed a few weeks ago Berkley just looked at it and said "wow!" over and over again! I can't wait to see her reaction today!

I remember looking out the window as a kid, anxious to see snow and so excited when I did and I honestly still get that excited feeling the first couple of times it snows!

I would be so sad if I didn't get to live in Utah because it really is such a beautiful place and I appreciate living here more and more each time I travel out of state!

Day 8 of Gratitude!

I'm going to keep this one short because it's way past my bedtime (and I'm late, once again!) but I am grateful for tv and movies!

I love just hanging out with my husband and watching something on the tv. I especially love that we almost always watch what I want to watch...including Pretty Little Liars!

A few other shows we watch together are Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, The Office, Baby Daddy, How I Met Your Mother, and Revenge. I love the drama! It never gets old for me! That's it! Goodnight!

Day 7 of Gratitude!

I know I'm a tad bit late but I still need to share my gratitude.

I'm so grateful for my hands...they do so many wonderful things each day...give hugs, hold hands with my sweet little toddler, make food, use my phone, wipe away tears from my babies' faces when they're sad, make crafts, allow me to drive, and so much more!

I spent a lot of time today making tutus for a fun boutique on Saturday and I took a moment while making them to stop and appreciate that I have hands that I can use to work and give service. I hope and pray that I will strive to find new ways to use them to bless and help others.

P.S. Although I meant what I said in my last post, I'm a lot more calm now and I just pray that our president will lead our country the way we need to be led. I'm honestly scared to death still.

Day 6 of Gratitude!

This is a tough one for me right now but I am grateful to be an American where at least I know I'm free.

I truly hoped and prayed that Obama wouldn't win the election but I knew that he would from the moment that I knew it was between him and Romney. How did I know? Because I knew that the signs of the times would continue on and if we had a righteous, spiritual, intelligent president (Romney) then things wouldn't happen as the scriptures say they will.

I feel terrified, to be completely honest, but we survived the past 4 years (even if only by hanging by a thread) and I have faith that Heavenly Father cares enough to help us survive the next 4 years.

Times are so hard. Thanks to changes made by Obama, we are stuck with owning a home that is now worth over $45,000 less than it was 4 years ago, we spend any money left over after bills and high taxes on over-priced gasoline and sometimes can't even afford to buy food (starting to change thankfully because of Aaron's new job), we are still paying for our youngest child because "affordable healthcare for all" only applies to people who don't pay for it...yes...my vaginal delivery without any anesthesia or complications literally cost more than $5,000 and meanwhile money is being taken out of our paychecks to help pay for other people to have their babies for free (a bunch of crap!), and so much more!

Thankfully Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers so I believe we will survive but I can't express my gratitude enough that Obama will never be re-elected again! There's my two cents. :) Now off to work on my food storage, emergency supplies, and stocking up on ammo while I still can!...right after a good night's sleep!

Day 5 of Gratitude!

I know I'm about an hour late but I'm posting anyways!

I'm so thankful for my current job! It's the best job ever! I never thought I would be blessed to be a stay at home mom but I am! Raising my two beautiful children and having the opportunity to watch them learn and grow is such a beautiful blessing...even on the rough days! I get to be a part of their lives every minute and I almost never miss a thing.

I went back to work as a pediatric/NICU nurse for 2 weeks after I had Berkley and, as much as I loved it, I hated missing out on spending time with my sweet, young baby.

I am so grateful that Aaron works so hard so I can stay home with our babies! I love it! Being a mom totally rocks!

Day 4 of Gratitude!

Today, and every day, I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. So, so grateful! I am thankful that I was raised with the gospel in my life and that I am sealed to my family for eternity. I am thankful to know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me as an individual and that even the small things that are important to me are important to Him.

I feel blessed to go to church each week and learn more about His gospel and take the sacrament and think of what Christ has done for me and all of us. I can't express my gratitude enough to have the gospel in my life and to have the blessings I have because I do my best to live it.

I am also thankful that Heavenly Father knows that I am imperfect but loves me anyways...true unconditional love. Not only that, but I am thankful that he loves all of us unconditionally and knows each of us better than we even know ourselves.

His guidance is such a blessing to me and I am grateful to Him for EVERYTHING that I have. I hope that those who are searching for Him will be able to find Him and feel His love in their lives as I do in mine.

Day 3 of Gratitude!

I'm so thankful for technology! I love having a smart phone that allows me to get on Facebook, read blogs, check my email, play games, and anything else I could want to do...even write this post! As frustrating as it can be sometimes I can't believe how much easier it makes life to have the technology we have! :)

P.S. I absolutely love my Samsung Galaxy S3! Best phone ever!

Day 2 of Gratitude!

I can't help but appreciate the fact that I have a warm, safe shelter that my family is blessed to live in. It breaks my heart that there are people suffering out east because their homes have been damaged by Hurricane Sandy...especially with the weather getting colder.

I wish that nobody had to be homeless. I hate seeing vacant properties that could be providing shelter to the homeless...seems like such a waste of space to me.

Although I get frustrated from time to time that my closet isn't as big as I wish it was, I'm truly grateful to have a home to have a closet in. I really shouldn't complain about something as stupid as a tiny closet and tiny garage when I could just remember how blessed I am to have a warm, safe place for my family. :)

Way behind but very thankful! Day 1 of Gratitude!

I'm not going to update my blog just yet thanks to my laptop having trojans recently but I do want to take a moment to express my gratitude for one of many things I'm grateful for today.

Day 1: I'm thankful to have such an incredible little family that I get to be sealed to for eternity. Aaron, Berkley, and Nixon are so special to me and I love them so much! I couldn't ask for a better husband and children. I feel so blessed to be their wife and mommy! :)

Stay tuned for more things I'm grateful for this month...my goal is to share one new thing each day!
