HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

I had a huge, seven day break over my birthday so I kept myself busy with family and friends!

On Friday, we went to a cabin with Travis and Jacey and Travis' parents. We played Sequence and nine innings and watched You, Me, and Dupree, ate cheesecake, and went snowmobiling! It was a blast!

On Saturday, we left the cabin and went to Pleasant Grove to stay with my parents. That night, Aaron and I went to Tepanyaki, my FAVORITE restaurant, with Travis and Jacey and Lindsey and Josh. It was so delicious! I would eat there every night if I could! I got the New York Steak Dinner with noodles and California roll sushi! YUM! I even caught the shrimp! (I guess it makes it easy when the chef throws it to the back of my throat and I don't have to try!) Then we went to Lindsey and Josh's house and the boys played Halo for a few hours while the girls talked. It was nice to have some "girl time".

On Sunday, we went to church with my family and we played a game called "Faces". It was fun to just relax that day.

On Monday, we went shopping! I got a sweet new swimsuit for the upcoming summer and I can't wait to wear it with my new and improved "swimbod"! (This is still in the works just so you know!) Later, we went to Eric and Kathleen's house for pizza and games. We literally played Risk for 3.5 hours! It was SO long!!! I did pretty good, surprisingly, but towards the end I honestly didn't care if I won or not! Kathleen made some killer chocolate shakes and these really good cookies that I ate WAY too many of but it was my birthday eve after all!

On Tuesday, my actual birthday, Aaron arranged for me, him, my mom, and my grandma to go to Good Things Utah, my favorite morning show, to be part of the studio audience. I recorded the show on my DVR and it shows me twice! If you saw the show, do me a favor and keep in mind that the camera actually adds 30 pounds! After the show was over, they asked a few trivia questions to win some scrapbooking kits. I won a kit and so did Aaron! Aaron gave the one that he won to my grandma since he obviously didn't need it. They are super cute kits! After getting our picture taken with Nicea, Angie, Marti, and Reagan we left to take my mom to work. Then my grandma took us out to IHOP for brunch. It was yummy! Then Aaron and I went shopping for a little while until we were both so tired that we had to go to my parents' house to pass out for a few hours. All three of my brothers living at home were really sick that day so it was only me, Aaron, and my parents who went to dinner. We went to Texas Roadhouse, one of my other favorites, and I got another steak (I really had to splurge while I had an excuse!) and I sat on the saddle while everybody said "YEEHAW!". It was embarrassing, but so worth it to get the ice cream! The rest of the night was nice and slow. We sat at my parents' house and just relaxed.

On Wednesday, my mom, Austin, Paxton, me, and Aaron all went shopping for some scrubs for my birthday presents. Afterwards, we went to Los Hermanos, my favorite Mexican restaurant, where I got fried ice cream for my birthday treat! YUMMY!!! Then we left Pleasant Grove to go home to Ogden. When we got home we unpacked, started some laundry, then played Clue (cause I got it for my birthday) until we went to Josh and Cassie's to get my hair done. Cassie rocks by the way! I LOVE MY NEW HAIR! Yup! I am officially a blonde again! YAY!!! It looks super cute! We got home around 11:30 PM and we went to bed. WHAT A BUSY WEEKEND!!!

I know that I made my birthday last nearly a week, but it only comes once a year so you have to make it last! Overall, it was a great birthday! Thanks to everybody who was a part of it!

You have one week left!

I have only one week left until my 24th birthday which means that all of you have one week left to get me a killer birthday present! So get up, turn off your computer, and get me something awesome! HAHAHA! Just kidding! But really! WOW! I cannot believe that I have already been alive for 24 years! Minus one week, but still! I really thought that I would have a baby by now. : ( Oh well. Someday.

At least I can look at my life as it is and be satisfied with where I am, right?! I mean I am 23 years old and I have a house, 3 cars (not paid off but they will be someday!), a wonderful career as a nurse, and, best of all, the best husband I could ever ask for. I really have everything that I want and need, minus the kid, but my time will come.

So, happy birthday to me...in a week! Maybe this will be my year to have a kid, or at least get pregnant. I would take either!

Funny Memories!

So a little while ago I went on break. When I walked into the breakroom there were several cakes and desserts sitting on the table. One was a homemade treat. It got me thinking and wondering if somebody would possibly mess around with others by putting secret ingredients in when they make stuff. That reminded me of a funny college experience. When I lived in the dorms in Price we had some neighbor boys who would always come in and take our food and eat it.

My roommates and I had had enough!

So Kai, Maggie, Haah (Heather), and I made some special brownies...not the normal special brownies though! We decided to make Ex-Lax Brownies! We bought chocolate flavored Ex-Lax and a brownie mix and we made our special brownies. Then we set them out on our table and opened the door so the boys could smell them when they walked past after baseball practice.

Sad to say our experiment didn't work out. It was the one time that they decided NOT to steal our food. It would have been hilarious but oh well! Just a warning though...if you steal my food, you'd better watch your back! HAHAHA!!!

More updates!

All has been going great lately. We are still staying busy but nobody is near death in the family, which is relaxing!!! Things were pretty crazy for a while there!

Aaron has been focusing on looking for a job and keeping the house in order while I stay busy at work. We have spent pretty much every spare minute together, watching movies, playing games, and just laughing together! There is never enough time in a day so we savor every moment we have together, or at least we try to. Hey! We are human after all!!!

It has been really nice to have both of us done with school. It's kind of funny. I was looking at the institute schedule the other day and noticed that January 18th was a holiday and there wasn't any school that day. I got all excited thinking, "YEA!!! Aaron doesn't have school that day!" Then I realized that he doesn't have school any day soon. DUH!!! HAHAHA!!! I had to laugh at myself and share the funny thought with him.

We are really enjoying life to the fullest right now and try to make every day a good day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We have had a great past week! We had a small New Year's Eve party at our house and we went to Texas Roadhouse with Aaron's family! At the party we played Wii games, ate lots of food, and celebrated the new year with a kiss and party poppers! The Thompsens came over and later on, James and Megan King came over! We don't get to see James and Megan very often so that was a special treat! On New Year's Day we had a few couples over for an activity night. Brad and Heather Taylor, Cass and Taylor Pebley, and Travis and Rachel Thompsen came. We played the Wii, Catch Phrase, and Sequence. The boys pretty much killed the girls on most of the games but whatever! We all know that we have to let the boys win every once in a while, right?! HAHAHA!!!

Tonight we went to ward FHE where we played a "Who, What, Where" game. It was kind of tough but a lot of fun! Then Aaron and I came home to watch "The Bachelor". It was really good and I can't wait to see the rest of the season! Now we're just hanging out, getting ready to go to bed! We are just staying busy and loving life!

More deaths in the family...

So now my grandpa is dead too. He died on Tuesday the 22nd of December while watching the BYU game in his bedroom. His funeral will be on Monday. That makes for two deaths in one month for my family. This really is not an easy trial and I can't imagine how much more difficult it would be if I didn't believe in life after death. I am just hoping and praying that nobody else will die for a while. I really need some time to recover from losing these two loved ones!

On a happier note, Aaron and I cooked our first turkey this last week and it was BEAUTIMOUS!!! We made it for the family party that we were in charge of, which also went great, apart from the fact that I got the phonecall about my grandpa while I was there, but the holidays were great for us! We made gingerbread houses, delivered treats to special friends and loved ones, and spent Christmas Day with our family! We were bummed that the phonecall to my brother serving a mission in South Africa didn't go through but we're sure that Heavenly Father is taking care of him!

As for New Year's Eve, we don't have any plans yet but I am sure we'll end up having a great time!

Happy Holidays Everyone!!! We love you!

Our CrAzY Life

So last Sunday my mom called me. She asked what we were doing and it seemed like a normal phone call. That was until she told me the news. I didn't want to believe it and I still have a hard time making it reality in my mind.

I couldn't believe that my grandma had died.

I sobbed for hours. The next night I had to work. I quietly cried some more while sitting in a dark corner waiting for my babies to wake up. I thought I would never stop crying. It was terrible. I didn't wear makeup for days because I knew I would just cry, making my face the victim of a nasty paint war.

Anyways, we ended up going to California for the funeral and I got to see family that I see once a year, if that. The day before the funeral my family got to go to the mortuary to see my grandma. She didn't look anything like she has my whole life. She weighed about half of what she weighed before, looked and felt tiny in my arms, but she looked peaceful and beautiful. The most comforting thing is knowing that she isn't hurting anymore.

The funeral was very nice. It was closed-casket and short-and-sweet. It still just doesn't seem real that she's gone. I hate that I can't just call and talk to her. Needless to say our trip to California was definitely not a vacation. The day after her funeral we looked through her things. I learned a lot about my grandma that I didn't know before. Overall it was a good trip.

Aaron is in his final week of his Bachelor's degree (again) and we are so excited to have school over! He has one final project left and he is done. It won't be real until he has the diploma in his hands. He is now a yellow belt in Tae-Kwan-Do and can kick your butt if you mess with him so WATCH OUT!!! Hahaha!!! Yeah right! My sweetheart would never hurt anyone. He has a heart full of gold! I promise! Just last night he drove me to work at 12:30 AM and picked me up at 4 AM. That's right! I got the big winner for a husband! So once he is done with school he will hopefully get hired somewhere and we can be making the big bucks!

I have been working a lot lately. Just this week I am on my second EXTRA shift. Yeah. I still have to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! It will be a gorgeous paycheck though! Can't wait to have it in the bank! There isn't much else going on in our lives at the moment. We are just living life one day at a time and enjoying our time together!
