Thankful
1. My husband. He is the most amazing man that I could imagine having as my husband and father of my not so future children. He actually felt really bad that he didn't get to tuck me in the night of his surgery (it was the first time in our marriage) and he is ALWAYS putting my needs first. I LOVE HIM!!!
2. Our jobs. We are both lucky/blessed enough to have great jobs with amazing bosses who make it easy to feel secure in our jobs. What a blessing! Especially with how difficult it is to get a job!
3. Our home. I am so thankful to have somewhere warm and safe to go. It kills me when I am driving home from work at 4:30 AM and there are at least a handful of men standing outside of the employment place waiting to get a job for the day so they can take care of their families. It breaks my heart, especially when it's below freezing outside.
4. Our baby girl, Berkley. I LOVE EVERYTHING about her! I love when she gets her hiccups or kicks me or wiggles like crazy for daddy because it all reminds me how real she is and lets me know that she is still doing good in there!
5. Maternity clothes. I don't know what I would wear without maternity clothes. My butt is extremely large in comparison to my legs and only maternity clothes are capable of keeping it covered! I love how comfortable they are too!
6. Medical technology. It amazes me that technology has come so far! I am thankful that Aaron was able to find out what was wrong with him and have it surgically fixed thanks to the advancements in technology.
7. Pens. Yeah, I know it's weird to be so thankful for pens but honestly, I am so glad that I don't have to carry around a thing of ink and a quill to write or sign my name to things. Thank heavens for this brilliant invention! Honestly, think of how much of an underappreciated advancement it is! I LOVE PENS!!!
8. Cars. Even though they don't always function as they should, I love having cars! Think of how long it would take to get from one place to another without cars! We would all be super skinny, but I think cars are awesome!
9. Family. I am thankful that when I can't be there to take care of Aaron somebody else can be. I am so thankful and comforted to know that he is in good hands tonight even though I am working and can't take care of him myself.
10. Talents. I am not only thankful for my own talents but for the talents of others as well. Their talents make my life so much easier! Just think, what would we do if all we had was our own talents to live off of? I wouldn't have working vehicles, nice looking hair, bedding or clothing, or many other things that I tend to take for granted! IT WOULD SUCK!!! So, thanks for being talented at the things that you do to make my life easier!
I could go on and on about the things I am thankful for, but then my blog would be way too long like the one a few weeks ago so I will keep it simple. Let us all remember to take time to realize the things that we underappreciate but are so thankful for as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving!
HAPPY FALL/THANKSGIVING!!!

The Good, The Bad, and The UGLY! (of being pregnant)
1. In early April we had a very strong impression to start trying to get pregnant. It was funny because we had gone to the temple to pray about buying a tanning salon and got this answer instead.
2. In mid-April our baby was conceived. We don't know the exact date but we know the time of the month and a few days that it could have been.
3. On May 8th we bought pregnancy tests at Wal-Mart because my period was 6 days late and by the time I would take the test (the next morning) it would be a week late.
4. On May 9th I took the pregnancy test and got the best Mother's Day gift ever! It couldn't have been more perfect. We told our parents and siblings as a mother's day gift. We actually gave the pee stick to our moms as a gift. Kinda gross but cool at the same time, right?
5. First Positive Pregnancy Test:

6. We went to the doctor to have the pregnancy confirmed on May 10th, the day after our first positive pregnancy test. I took another test before going to the doctor, which was also positive and I was able to record Aaron's reaction on my phone. It was awesome. The doctor confirmed the pregnancy and did our very first ultrasound. We could only see a tiny blob because I was only 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant.
7. Second Positive Pregnancy Test:
8. On May 18th I had a little bit of spotting but I called the doctor's office and they said to make sure it didn't get worse. I didn't have anymore spotting after that (PHEW!).9. On May 20th we went shopping in Park City for the first time since finding out we were pregnant. We had to buy boy and girl stuff because we wouldn't know for several more weeks whether we were going to have a boy or a girl. It was fun!
10. I had my first hormonal meltdown on May 20th and yelled at Aaron and cried the hardest I had ever cried for about 30 minutes straight. It was all because he wanted to try on golf shirts and I didn't feel like shopping for him. Ridiculous, I know!
11. On May 24th we went to the doctor for the second time and we had another ultrasound. Our baby was still a pretty small blob but it was very exciting!
13. In late May, I started having to pee very frequently. Before I learned to control it and sleep through it, there was one night that I woke up 5 times during the night to go. It was AWFUL!14. I started waking up at 7:30 AM every day and needing naps around 11:30 AM towards the end of May. Aaron didn't wake up until around 10 or 10:30 AM so I was heading back to bed just after he got up. It was crazy! He hated it too!
15. On May 30th I had my first pregnant migraine. That is one thing that sucks about being pregnant, not being able to take anything but Tylenol. I have ALWAYS had to use Excedrin migraine and even prescription meds to get my migraines under control. I had several more migraines in early June, one on the 4th, one on the 5th, one on the 10th, two on the 11th, one on the 12th, and one on the 13th. They were horrible! I literally laid in bed all day on the 11th, 12th, and 13th because between morning sickness and migraines, I was MISERABLE! I pretty much slept it off for a few days but I haven't had any since (knock on wood!).
16. I did my very first 5K on June 5th. I finished in about 53 minutes, which isn't the greatest, but considering that I was nearly 9 weeks pregnant and had never done more than 1.5 miles in my life and hadn't even done that for 8 years, I think that I kicked butt! Unfortunately it felt like I had kicked my own butt, seeing as I could hardly even move for a day and a half.
17. We had another ultrasound on June 7th (9 weeks and 1 day pregnant) and we got to see her cute little body with her arms and legs sticking out. She was 1.53 cm long! Of course, at this point we didn't know that she was a girl. In fact, we even thought she was a boy. It's kind of funny to think about it now!
19. I had it coming, I just didn't know when. On June 10th we were driving to my parents' house to visit for my dad's birthday. I was eating some chili Frito's as we were driving and I started to feel really, really sick. I had a bowl with me, thank goodness (I didn't leave the house or even a room in the house without one for several weeks), and I utilized it well. We were in the carpool lane when it started coming out. It splashed all over the dashboard and me because the bowl was nearly overflowing by the time we finally got over to where we could stop on the side of the road. Aaron emptied it for me just for me to refill it and have him dump it again. It was awful! I didn't throw up anymore after that but I felt like garbage the rest of the day.

32. I fell madly in love with apple pie during the first part of the second trimester. When I say "madly", I mean it literally. I went to Smith's one day to do some normal grocery shopping. As soon as I walked into the store, I had the strongest sudden desire for baked apple pie. I ran over to the bakery section with my cart to grab a pie, assuming they would have one in the middle of the day, and soon realized that there was not a single apple pie there. They had pumpkin, rhubarb, and several other flavors, but no apple. I stared in disappointment for a moment, then I realized that the tears were going to flow. I grabbed my cart, hurried over to stand in front of the donut case, and let the tears push their way out. I sobbed for about 5 minutes before calming down enough to call Aaron and tell him how upset I was. He suggested buying pie from another store but I wasn't having it. I didn't want frozen pie either and I was just stubborn about the whole situation. Aaron finally got home from work a little while later and took me to Village Inn to get a baked apple pie. I ate the entire thing in less than 2 days (Aaron only got one slice) and I continued to buy apple pie for a few more weeks. I would eat 1/4 of the pie at one time (covered in spray whipped topping) so I went through a lot of pie. I tried 2 types of apple pie from Wal-Mart and Smith's actually had apple pie a few times too, so I bought that. One of the times I was there, I actually chewed out the lady working in the bakery for not having apple pie. I feel bad about it now but I was so upset that I felt it was necessary. Now I satisfy my apple craving with apple juice and I drink about 1/2-1 full bottle a day. YUM!!!
33. 16 week belly pic on July 25th:
34. We have read the Book of Mormon every single night since June 2008. We have been through it a few times together and each time is more special to me than the previous. We finished it again on July 27th, meaning we were starting again on July 28th. We decided to dedicate this time through to our baby. We wanted to make sure we would be done with it again before she was born so we decided to read 5 pages a night. It can be very difficult sometimes, but we have stuck with it and only have about 30 days left. It's so neat to work on inviting the spirit into our home every day and we hope that we are doing all that we can to prepare ourselves to raise our daughter in the gospel.

Pregnancy Brain, Allergies, Family, and More!
Here's what happened last week. We got new tires on our SUV a few months ago and they have a sweet 80,000 mile warranty on them. In order to keep the warranty, the tires have to be rotated every so often and that time happened to be this last week. I decided that I would get off the couch, get dressed, and be productive for the day.
I took my SUV to Jiffy Lube, told them that I needed the tires rotated to maintain the warranty, gave them the key, and sat in the waiting room. The room was not how I remembered it being when we had the tires put on, but seeing as I was still in my first trimester and SUPER nauseated by the smell of tires when we got them put on, I figured that I just had not paid enough attention.
I sat down and called a few people to keep myself busy. While on the phone with my mom, I realized that I was DEFINITELY at the wrong place. I was supposed to be at Big O Tires. I hurried and hung up with my mom, ran out to where my SUV was, told the employees that I was at the wrong place, then realized that it was too late. I was SO upset! I started sobbing right in front of everybody, called Aaron to explain what an idiot I had been, asked how much it was going to cost me, and cried some more.
After dabbing my eyes dry in their nasty bathroom, I went back to the waiting room. When they came to tell me it was done, the tears started rolling again. I unwillingly paid the $23 to have my stupid tires rotated at the wrong store, got in my car to drive to my doctor's appointment that I was late for, and started sobbing AGAIN! I cried for 15 minutes, explaining to Aaron on the phone that I was a total idiot and I couldn't believe that I had wasted that money which could have been spent on clothes for our baby girl. I cried until I was heaving, which happens far too often, and Aaron told me that I needed to calm down and that he didn't care. Little did I know at the time that I was so loud that his manager and co-worker both heard me sobbing like an idiot. When I did find out, I was SO humiliated! I will have to make sure to cry more quietly to him next time.
I went to my appointment with the ENT where I found out that I am allergic to cow's milk, egg whites, and wheat, which is why I was covered in hives a few weeks ago and had to go to the ER because I couldn't breathe. I decided this past weekend that I would make a point to go off the eggs and milk after my brother got home because we were going to Golden Corral and I wanted to eat whatever I wanted. BAD DECISION! I had scrambled eggs at Jeremiah's for breakfast on Saturday. A few hours later, the hives were starting on my hands and later showed up on my belly. I took some Claritin and they went away, but I haven't eaten eggs or drank milk since.
So we were at my parents' house this past weekend because my brother, Jace, came home from South Africa on Saturday and my brother, Austin, got his Eagle on Sunday. We left this morning to come home so Aaron could go to work. We were near Layton when I realized that I couldn't find my purse. I couldn't think about where it would be. I called my mom to see if she had seen it. YUP! It was in her bedroom, where I left it last night! WHAT AN IDIOT! I honestly don't think that I have EVER forgotten my purse and I'm still not sure how it happened! So now I am trapped at home because I don't have a wallet (which happens to hold my license and debit card) and it SUPER SUCKS! My mom is going to be awesome and bring it up to me later this afternoon though. Hopefully she makes it before I have to go to work. I am honestly wondering what stupid thing I will do next. I'm frightened that I might leave without clothes on one of these days, especially at this rate!
On the more positive side, my baby girl is super active! She kicks me ALL day long and I LOVE it! Aaron has felt her several times now, which is really exciting! She absolutely hates when I am on the laptop and she sits here and kicks at it and I think it's SO funny! We get to have another appointment in 2 weeks and then another one with the perinatologist on the 5th of October. We will get to find out if I still have a placenta previa when we go to the perinatologist and we will find out if I am having a C-section depending on my placenta. No matter what, all I want is for my baby girl to keep growing and to make her way here when she is ready, even though we are already almost 100% ready for her!
